Taking a day for yourself to relax has so many benefits. I think it is crucial to find time for yourself in your busy life… whether it is grabbing a cup of coffee and enjoying some quite time, or going for a walk, or getting your hair and nails done, or even finding time to head to the spa, a relaxing day can do wonders.
I had the opportunity to team up with Burke Williams Day Spa for a day of complete relaxation and I have to say I left the spa feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. When you walk into the lobby area it is so pretty, and inviting. You’ll notice Burke Williams on the back wall in gold lettering, a lovely chandelier, and all their major skincare products as well as shopping gifts. When I arrived, I was greeted with friendly faces, I had a full tour of the women’s amenities area, and a breakdown on how the day was going to go. I booked two appointments that day; a hot stone massage and a hydration nourishing facial. I was given a robe and shoes and I was informed I could use the amenities before and after my services. I was excited to get started, so I went straight to the beautiful waiting room to relax and prepare for my first treatment.
The Hot Stone Massage Experience
I love a good massage especially when you add hot stones to the mix, it really helps loosen your muscles and because I have a pinched nerve in my neck that intensifies headaches, I knew that this was really going to help. My masseuse, Akemi, was wonderful! She was friendly and discussed, in great detail, all of my areas that needed more attention. She also placed my robe into a mini heater so that when the session was completed I would leave in a warm robe. The 60 minute massage was pure heaven. Akemi made sure the pressure was okay, she also made sure that the stones were not too hot for me and she was so sweet to talk to making my experience very comfortable. She really knew her craft and before I could even focus on what was tight or needing to explain any area that needed more massaging, she was already on it and was explaining it to me. It was so relaxing and after the service was over she rang a gentle chime to let me know the time was up. I felt so loose and relaxed after my session and my neck didn’t feel as tight. I absolutely, 100%, recommend a hot stone massage at Burke Williams, it was wonderful and I am totally going back for another spa day. (If you are looking to get a nice massage done and it is your first time at Burke Williams, I would ask for Akemi).
The Anti-Aging Nourishing Facial
This was such a great experience, I have been lacking in the facial department lately, so this was a real treat for me to get one after not having one in last two years! The process was calming, mixed in with a little discomfort, but nothing major. The spicy mask, as they like to call it, definitely feels spicy on my face (I am not going to lie, it does slightly burn), but it did wonders for my skin. So, I actually ended up purchasing it in order to use at home, once a week, as part of my beauty routine. The whole session was such a calming process and I even received a foot massage. I learned a lot about my skin and I learned things I needed to focus on to eliminate little bumps all over my skin and my under-eye bumps which has been an issue for me recently. Dominique was so wonderful, she was knowledgeable, and gave me some great tips on how to eliminate my under-eye bumps. I was using eye-makeup remover wipes that had too much of an oil base in them which was causing these tiny bumps to appear. She told me that the best thing to remove eye-makeup is baby shampoo and it should help with this issue. I have been using baby shampoo for a few weeks now and it has really made huge a difference! My skin overall has felt hydrated and radiant since my facial, I ended up getting glycolic acid serum for a night treatment which Dominique also mentioned would help my overall face bumps. I have seen a huge improvement since applying this serum into my night-time routine. (If you are looking to get a nice educational facial and it is your first time at Burke Williams, I would ask for Dominique). Click here for more details on this facial.
Hv2- Glycolic Acid, Eminence Eight Greens Phyto Masque- Hot, and Eminence Naseberry Treatment cream.
The amenities really added so much to my overall experience at Burke Williams Spa. After being in deep relaxation from my hot stone massage and my facial, I decided to just take my time and enjoy the beautiful amenities. There are so many different things to choose from such has steam room, showers, hot tub, the pure relaxation room, and there were endless oranges which were so refreshing and nice to have when I made my way to each amenity.
Burke Williams Spa is my new favorite place to really do something nice for myself. I am so happy with all the services I received, my experience was so wonderful and I will be going back! Thank you Burke Williams! For more info on Burke Williams and all they have to offer please click HERE.
